Iyengar Yoga is a form of yoga with a focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the practice of asanas. It differs from other styles of yoga in three ways: precision, sequence and use of props.
Ashtanga yoga is Patanjali's classification of classical yoga as set out in his Yoga Sutras. He defined the eight limbs as yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi.
Hatha yoga is the branch of yoga that typically comes to mind when you think of yoga in general terms. The practice involves breath, body and mind. Classes consist of breathing, yoga poses and meditation.
Pranayama is the ancient practice of controlling your breath. The goal is to connect your body and mind. It supplies your body with oxygen, removes toxins and is meant to provide healing physiological benefits.
